Zum Treffen im April (16.4.07) kommt uns Mathias Raacke mit seinem Vortrag "ADO .NET Sync Services" besuchen.
Vortrag: ADO.NET Sync Services
Die ADO .NET Sync Services sind eine neue, auf ADO .NET aufbauende API zur Synchronisierung von Daten zwischen verschiedenen Datenbanken. Sie sollen den Entwickler dabei unterstützen, Smart Clients zu entwickeln, die nur gelegentlich eine Verbindung zum Datenbankserver aufbauen können. Die Synchronisierung kann dabei nicht nur direkt über eine Datenbankverbindung, sondern auch über einen Web Service erfolgen. Diese Session gibt einen Überblick über die ADO .NET Sync Services und die dazugehörigen Designer in Visual Studio "Orcas" und zeigt anhand vieler Codebeispiele, wie die Sync Services verwendet werden können.
Über Mathias Raacke:
Er arbeitet als Senior Student Partner im Student Program der Microsoft Deutschland GmbH. Er ist außerdem freiberuflicher Trainer und Entwickler für .NET und andere Microsoft Technologien. Auch in seiner Freizeit beschäftigt er sich viel mit .NET - Er leitet die .NET User Group in Paderborn und ist Mitgründer der .NET User Group Bielefeld. Und in dem bisschen Zeit das dann noch übrig bleibt studiert er seit 9 Semestern Informatik in Paderborn.

Im Juni (18.06.07) wird uns Aleksander Seovic besuchen und einen Vortrag über "Distributed Caching: Essential Lessons" halten. Der Vortrag wird uns von der Firma Tangosol ermöglicht.
Vortrag: Distributed Caching: Essential Lessons
Aleksandar Seovic will discuss application development considerations for maximum scalable performance and reliability in clustered .NET environments. This presentation focuses on improving scalability and scalable performance of applications through the use of clustered caching and data grids to reliably share live data among clustered application nodes, providing transparent fail-over as a key element of uninterrupted operation and reduced load on the database tier as a key element of scalability. We will also discuss how you can simply improve performance and scalability of the existing ASP.NET applications by storing session state in a data grid.
The presentation will focus on:
* Caching Topologies: the limitations, trade-offs and benefits
* Cache aside, read/write through and write behind architectures, where and when to use
* Use cases and a topology quiz
* Scaling ASP.NET web applications

Aleksandar Seovic is a Managing Director at Solutions for Human Capital, Inc. – a software development company specializing in enterprise document and content management. He has lead development effort on a number of engagements for Fortune 500 corporations, mostly in pharmaceutical and financial services industries, and has worked in the architect role on both .NET and J2EE projects.
Most recently, Aleks took part in the design and implementation of Tangosol Coherence for .NET, a client library that allows applications written in any .NET language to access data and services provided by Tangosol Coherence data grid.
Aleks is also a co-lead for Spring.NET, an open source framework for enterprise application development, and a lead developer for Web, AOP and Services modules of the framework.
